Writer's Block: Revenge of the midnight movie [26 May 2011|10:57pm]
What is your favorite cult film, and why?

Either The Rocky Horror Picture Show or Donnie Darko. Though I'm still not quite sure what the hell the latter is about. :D

Writer's Block: No reservations required [25 Mar 2011|11:40pm]
If you could go out to dinner with a character from a current TV show, who would you choose, and why?

Keith Watson from Desperate Housewives cause he's sooooo sexy. ;) Or Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl, same reasoning for this one and he just really seems to know how to woo a girl. Or Barney Stinson cause he's hilarious and I could use his attitude on dating and relationships. Or Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory just because. :D

Hmm...wonder why they're all men? ;D I had to choose a woman...Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl cause maybe we'd become friends and I could borrow all those amazing clothes and shoes.

Writer's Block: I'm in love with my car [09 Feb 2011|11:39pm]
If you could have any car in the world, what would it be?

I'm not too big on driving myself cause I'm just too afraid of crashing the car or not knowing whose turn it is to go at crossings etc. (I'd rather be a passanger when someone else drives and I enjoy the landscapes) but in an ideal world I would drive maybe this:

If someone offered, I could take Gaby's (from Desperate Housewives) Aston Martin as well.

Writer's Block: Everything's coming up rabbits [03 Feb 2011|11:11pm]
What sign were you born under in the Chinese lunar calendar? Do you think it accurately represents your animal spirit?

I'm a Rabbit or as I prefer the Viatnemese version, a cat. And yeah, it does represent my animal spirit pretty well, wouldn't want any other sign either. The description is pretty accurate as well:

Personality

Occupying the 4th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Rabbit symbolizes such character traits as creativity, compassion, and sensitivity. Rabbits are friendly, outgoing and prefer the company of others. They also prefer to avoid conflict. In confrontational situations, Rabbits approach calmly and with consideration for the other party. Rabbits believe strongly in friends and family and lacking such bonds can lead to emotional issues.

Their serene nature keeps Rabbits from becoming visibly upset. Because they’re serene animals, Rabbits are easily taken advantage of. Their sensitive nature makes them shy away from aggressive or competitive situations. They’re overall conservative and not interested in taking risks.

Classy, sophisticated, expressive, well-mannered and stylish, those born under the Sign of the Rabbit enjoy leaning about cultural issues and learning about people from other countries. Rabbits are most comfortable being home, and their homes are always neat and organized. Home is also where Rabbits prefer to entertain. Rabbits are conservative in their decorating tastes.

Rabbits should work at building more self-confidence and self-worth so they can feel more secure. The desire for remaining in safe, comfortable environments keeps Rabbits from taking risks which sometimes causes them to miss out on good opportunities.

Health

Even though Rabbits don’t usually get visibly upset or stressed, they do tend to keep these feelings inside. When they don’t express these feelings, such feeling can cause Rabbits to become ill. Rabbits could benefit from more everyday activity which would reduce their stress levels and better their health.

Relationships

Rabbits are very sexual, but tend to give more of themselves than they should. This can lead to unrealistic expectations and unhealthy situations. Rabbits need partners who won’t take advantage of their giving nature. Such pairings will be strong.

Career

Rabbits are articulate and good communicators which is why friends and acquaintances seek out their advice. It’s also why Rabbits make excellent diplomats and politicians. Other good careers for Rabbits include: writer, publisher, actor, fashion designer, therapist, doctor, administrator, public relations, and teacher.

Rabbits and the 5 elements

Metal Rabbits – Years 1951 and 2011

Metal gives Rabbits more strength, resilience and determination. Metal Rabbits are more intense in their actions, whether they’re work-related or romantic.

Water Rabbits – Years 1903 and 1963

Like the currents, Water Rabbits prefer to go with the flow, avoiding conflict at all costs, even in situations that are bothersome. It’s easy to take advantage of Water Rabbits. They’re very supportive of others.

Wood Rabbits – Years 1915 and 1975

Wood Rabbits occupy their time doing for others; always feeling the need to make others content. This generosity is easy for others to take advantage of and sometimes Water Rabbits don’t even realize is happening.

Fire Rabbits – Years 1927 and 1987

Fire adds spark to the Rabbit’s personality and all that Fire Rabbits do. Fire compels Rabbits to seek new adventures. Prone to tantrums, Fire Rabbits prefer to avoid conflict.
Earth Rabbits – Years 1939 and 1999

Earth Rabbits are grounded in reality. Their advice can be harsh, but honest. Home life is important to Earth Rabbits as are money and material goods.
Compatibility

The Rabbit is most compatible with the Pig and Dog and incompatible with the Rooster and Rat.

The only traits I'm not so sure fit me are being organized and neat (well in some things maybe, like I do like organizing my book shelf, maps, cds, shoes etc. but usually my room couldn't be any messier), not getting visibly upset or stressed (I get upset really easily and cry in public too. Then again, if it's something personal I do tend to keep quiet about it like in Moscow when I broke up with Jack and only cried about it to my parents once. Teachers did notice I was upset though.) and politician being a good career option cause I don't like public speaking at all. That being said, I did do a degree in IR and dad has always said I'd make a good diplomat haha.

Writer's Block: Since you've been gone [03 Dec 2010|10:35pm]
Do you keep in touch with any of your exes on LiveJournal or other social networking sites? When an ex friends you, do you usually friend them back? Why or why not?

Am friends but the keeping in touch is pretty much limited to stalking every now and then. We said we would remain friends but I can't even remember the last time we actually talked. Might have burned some bridges though when I said I would punch his new girlfriend if I ever saw her...

I don't think this "friendship" is really working, all the updates about him and her are just making me depressed but at the same time I can't really let go and delete him as a friend cause I still miss him. Also, some part of me wishes I could get a new boyfriend (which isn't going to happen for as long as I'm not completely over my ex) and make him jealous but he seems too happy for that. I guess being friends with ex can work sometimes but not when the other is not over them. All I know is I'm not gonna be friendsfriends with mine for a long time...

Writer's Block: Cool places [23 Nov 2010|11:48pm]
What's your favorite city or town that you've visited? Why do you love it?

All time - have to say London, UK. Birmingham comes pretty close. I love them for all the amazing memories, people and just the feeling of belonging, being somewhere you call home which has never happened with eg. Helsinki where I was born.

I also love Portsmouth, UK again for all the lovely memories. I also really love the south of England.

And with all these places in UK, I guess I could mention New York as well since it was pretty incredible place as well. I still don't know how to get anywhere around there (the street plan is just really confusing me) but oh, oh all the shops and tall buildings that cast shadows on the streets and museums and the weird, lovely feeling you get seeing the Statue of Liberty and the city lights that never go out and you just can't get the same thing anywhere else in the world. Would love to go back there, maybe as a student next year but I doubt that it will ever feel like home the same way England does.

Writer's Block: Passing the time [16 Nov 2010|12:03am]
What's your favorite thing to do on long car rides?

I would like to say read but I get car sick if I do that. I can read on the planes, buses, trains, boats but not cars. So instead I usually sleep in uncomfortable positions, listen to music or watch the scenery from the window.

Writer's Block: My eyes are just a little sweaty today [22 Aug 2010|09:50pm]
What was the last thing that made you cry?

Watching Homeward Bound tonight on tv. I choke up everytime the animals come back home. Used to be one my favourite films when it first came out 17 years ago.

Writer's Block: Acquired taste [21 Jun 2010|09:46pm]
What is your favorite weird food combination? Have your friends ever tried it or do you only eat it in private?

What springs to my mind first is eating my roast dinners (in UK) with mayonnaise and tartar sauce (though I love them so much I have them pretty much with everything bread, sausages, pizza...). No, I am not British (I just live here) and yes, all my British friends think it's dead weird.

Also, I recently discovered mint sauce is pretty good with chips (as well as the usual lamb).

Boiling [26 Apr 2008|10:08am]
[ mood | hot ]

It seems like it only needs to be +12 and sunny outside to make my room boiling. Yes, the heating is on but only on like 13 degrees. Yesterday I made the mistake of putting the heating on +25 when I came in cause I thought, like usually, the house will be freezing. Well, it didn't take long when I couldn't breathe anymore cause it was so hot. But it isn't even that high on now! And I've woken up at 10 am cause it was too bloody hot to sleep. I'm really looking forward to when the temperatures actually are high, like last May they were about +21 at some point. It doesn't make it any better that since the house is ancient, all the windows are ancient too and have to be opened from the bottom and from the sides to get open. Whose clever idea has that been??!

Restless dreams about ghosts that were first mean but then nicer, facebook and revision and my friend's Rrymy-parties.

Now, I could actually try to make a revision plan for myself though they never work and I haven't got time to start revising now (got two essays to write and Russian oral to practice for next Tuesday's exam).
